Annual Easter Budo Seminar April 3rd - 6th 2018 10-4pm

The annual Easter course is a precious resource to all the members of the TBCI. Its an opportunity to train for a number of days to refine, develop and improve ourselves in our chosen disciplines. In today’s busy world the members of the TBCI have few opportunities to come together and this is why this event is most precious because it brings us all together to tighten the bonds of friendship.

The school holidays dictate the dates when this event is held. In recent years it has become more difficult to organise as different schools have different end of term breaks over the Easter period. To date we have managed to hold the event on the week before Easter however in 2018 this is not possible as some schools break up the week before Easter (for two weeks), other schools finish on the Good Friday. As a result the only week when everyone is off is Easter week – a week later than normal.

This annual Bodo course provides the opportunity to train under the guidance of Master instructors in the arts of Judo, Aikido, Karate, Jujutsu and Kobudo (weapon arts). Four days of training are available; the ‘die hards’ train all day, every day, while many others choose a ‘pick and mix’ approach where they train when it suits them and spend time with their families enjoying what the coastal resorts have to offer. Making this a holiday to suite the whole family.

The 2018 Easter Course will be held in the same college we used last year with a slightly shorter course from the Tuesday (after the bank holiday Monday) till the Friday. This will provide us with four days of training and four nights of partying. It will be cheaper for the caravans as we will only need to book them – Monday to Friday or you could still book the van for the week and have some time with the family exploring the beautiful Yorkshire coastline? The area has stunning scenery, glorious beaches, loads to do and see for the whole family, it’s also close to many other holiday resorts such as Whitby where Bram Stoker’s famous Dracula features the town, with the vampire first coming ashore here from Transylvania in the guise of a black dog.

The Budo training will take place in a 6th form college and we encourage you to stop close by at Cayton Bay Holiday Park, so you have the opportunity to socialise together with all the other families involved in this event.

If you’ve never tried the Easter Course before I encourage you to give it a go - to learn, laugh and make new friends. It’s an experience the whole family will enjoy. For those of you who have been before - I’ll look forward to see you there.

Yours in Budo

Rick Roberts
